Steady stream of dump trucks hauling material from the gravel pit off McLeod Rd. to behind Washer Road. Wetting down the soil being dumped but not the dust on the road.
KIP applied to dump 1000 cubic metres of treated sewage into Hart/Washer Creek daily Oct. through May. From the developer that promised an expandable sewage system that Royston and Union Bay could hook into at their own cost.
Pic below is from May 19, 2023, facing downstream towards the ocean. Look at how little water is in the creek and this is under the train trestle which is the deepest part of the creek. Doesn’t even cover the rocks. How can the gov’t approve Kip’s application to dump daily from Oct. through May?
Just like every other promise – it’s all been bullshit. Ole slick supposedly has Chinese investors. So all you folks who thought KIP cared about you or Union Bay – this is what your support for a slimy developer and his ‘representative’ has produced. Increased tax bill of $39,000. for sewage with additional costs to the landowners for piping from road to house.
This sleazy developer led every Board of Trustees of the Union Bay Improvement District around by the nose with the exception of the Molstad board – Carol Molstad, Bruce Livesey, Anne Alcock, Alan Webb and Eve Gaudreau. Also, not including the last year or so before conversion when Ian Munro was Chair.
Ole slick was always calling the shots when we had the gong show consisting of incompetent Chair Jacques and incompetent trustees Loxam Bitten and Haraldson. They sold the land (20 acres) up by Langley Lake that was identified by Kip’s own consultant as the best location because ole slick talked them into 4 acres at the same elevation as the old waterworks. Ole slick then talked them into bringing in the land for a new Fire Hall into the water treatment negotiations in spite of the fact it was already specified in the MDA negotiated by the CVRD of 4 acres. These brainiacs negotiated down from 4 acres to 2 hectares because ole slick asked for it.

Gravel pit.
