When the Regional District lost this court case, they didn’t appeal as it was a simple fact that they changed the water source for Kensington Island Properties from Van West Lakes (one of the 14 conditions KIP was to comply with) after the public hearings in March 2016, to Langley Lake which had been a major concern for landowners, and not given the opportunity to speak to the change. We supported a development that was going to get water from Van West Lakes – not Langley Lake. 3000 new doors from Langley Lake. That’s why Langley Lake is the water source – because the Regional District screwed you over.
The first hearings were attended by those living in Union Bay and area. The Regional pulled a slimy tactic and let anyone, anywhere in the world support the development at their next hearing in Dec. 2009.
Article below is when we still believed Van West Lakes would be used.
Read the bullshit we were fed from all directions, Regional District, developer, elected trustees and the bloody newspaper. Everyone spewing bs about what KIP was providing. We got 6.5 acres!
Submissions from Dec. 2009 KIP hearing. Red = Union Bay. Yellow = Realtor. Note McElhanney and Focus – support from businesses Kip employed.

One of the worst spreaders of misinformation.
The truth about the $400,000.
