The only good thing is that the hillbilly faction is getting watered down by new folks moving here who know what professionalism is, know what a conflict of interest is, know enough to ask follow up questions instead of listening to their uninformed hillbilly neighbours.

You got a lousy 6.5 acres from the guy who promised you $17.4 Million for water alone and a sewage system we could hook into. Happy now that you’re paying for both, had to borrow for the water treatment and now you personally are going to be paying $39,000 for sewer?

These are the trustees who were the only good ones planning for the future of the community, imo. Carol Molstad, Alan Webb, Bruce Livesey, Cleve Goldswain, Eve Gaudreau, Anne Alcock, Susanna Kaljur, Jim Elliott and Ian Munro. Honourable mentions as their terms were very short – Hein Vandenberg and Paul Healey who wrote the letter to join the CVRD. Administrator – the best – Kevin Douville. That’s it in all the years I’ve been keeping track since 2005. The others were a detriment to the community and should be ashamed instead of touting how great they are. Incompetent – every one of them.

Here is Area A Director Daniel Arbour confirming the MDA stipulates the developer was to build an expandable sewage system Royston and Union Bay could hook into at their own cost. Then you have Marc Ruttan talk about “the option the developer has come up with and exploring that option with him.” The new sewage system we are being forced to pay for is for the developer – it’s not for us. And if they think this sleazy developer is coming up with a portion of the $30 Million along with KFN towards sewer – they’re suckers too.

The CVRD is not acting in the best interests of those they represent. This developer made promises and the MDA was to ensure those promises were kept. The community supported this development under false pretences by a slimy developer and the CVRD is complicit. We are being screwed.

Foul mouth alert: Those of you who supported the fucking idiot trustees over the years and especially the ones who negotiated with KIP can be credited with the shortsightedness of their fucking trustees who thought 4 acres will accommodate the future water requirements of Union Bay. Those who still think this guy is the saviour of Union Bay are too stupid to understand what has transpired. Too stupid to think – braindead.
