The above comment was left a few minutes ago and thought it might be missed at the end of the post.Certified fall protection required over 10 feet in BC per Worksafe BC and OH&S. The worker in the video does not have a Fall Protection harness on, on Industrial sites rope ladders are not allowed (it looks to be rope from the video. If using an AWP (aerial work platform) for access worker is still required to have a Fall arrest harness on and attached to the basket when operating or in of the AWP which obviously is not happening. As well the opening on the ship must be an approved fall restraint or barricade not a piece of rope. And all workers must be , by a certified trainer, adequately trained in the use of fall protection systems. As well, as it is documented that the old vessel is asbestos laden, all workers should be wearing masks and proper PPE which if the owner knows this it is a major safety violation. Bill C-45 was developed for these types of owners and Marystown has the history of what happens when workers are not adequately protected by the owners.
