in 1996 Denman was in Area A (then it was out and now it’s back in again) and a large number from Denman opposed the development. and it was defeated. Kensington Island Properties was created and infected the community ever since.

We were ripe for the picking. Look at the proposal to build a Waterfront Hotel and Conference Centre on the bloody coal hill – and no one ever called them on it for suggesting such a bizarre proposal. We thought it was wonderful – developers who said they listened and cared with lots of pretty pictures. Suckers.
