Video from 2018. Something to keep in mind regarding this remediation. The ‘prescription’ arrived at in 2012 is what is being implemented now. Listen to Duncan Williams and the rep from West Frasier talk about it. You’ll note Williams talks about the human error at Land Titles that was clearly a mistake and yet it was deemed irreversible – this was when Kensington Island Properties aka Union Bay Estates violated the MDA by subdividing and dumping 27 contaminated acres back on the Province, and yet provided the CVRD with a letter claiming KIP was compliant “in all materials aspects” of the MDA, weeks after the dump.
Williams confirms the coal hill is manmade.
Will be interesting to see the outcome after all these years being held up because of the three parties negotiating about who was going to pay what portion. The Province, Kensington Island Properties and West Frasier.
You think KIP has bundles of money lying around for the south sewer?
The video below is VP of Kensington Island Properties aka Union Bay Estates telling the lie about being unable to start work on the Water Infrastructure Agreement of 2011, due to the coal hill remediation. This was at a KIP meeting in 2016 where he turned the community against the Molstad board because he claimed they wouldn’t grant him an extension on the agreement that expired Dec. 31/2014. This is a sleazy developer.
