Here we have Area A Director, Daniel Arbour acting as though only the Federal Gov’t can remedy the situation and that he’s taken action – bullshit! All government levels are responsible for this environmental disaster, including the CVRD slow walking the lawsuit against DWR. The CVRD initiated the lawsuit in Apr. 2022 and nothing has proceeded because the CVRD decided to apply for a change of venue and of course, DWR’s lawyers opposed it – what a surprise. The CVRD is doing nothing and have only gone through the motions – as though they are hoping someone else will swoop in and make the problem go away.
The CVRD claimed the Vancouver courts were too busy – then why did they initiate the legal action there? Why not Nanaimo? We are being fed bullshit.

ALL in Vancouver, including scheduling a trial date immediately after the Justice ruled in the Protection of Public Participation Act in May 2024. And yet the CVRD claims they haven’t been able to secure a trial date since 2022 – something stinks.
