What transpired at the AGM of the Union Bay Community Club in March just stinks. Like I said before about minutes. The accuracy depends on who composes those minutes.
You want the people the local media mocked when they were in an elected positions to guide the future of Union Bay?
These minutes don’t disclose what took place with their little coup and how someone stood up and nominated 20 people.
Do the rules governing Societies allow for 2 and 3 family members to be on the same democratic board?
How did Brenda Bitten, Rick Bitten and Rodney Bitten get elected. Oh, I forgot, the rules can be changed by the Bittens. They aren’t governed by the same rules so they bend them when it suits them.

Word has it the baseball team is calling the shots and they were the ones that bought memberships and voted for their heros.
Word has it the Pickle Ball players pay $3. each time to the community club but the ballplayers refuse to pay the $3. Pickle Ball players brought in more money than the ball team. Why is that and why do they get an exemption?
Word has it some people don’t have to pay for the grounds. Depends if they like you or are related. It’s the Union Bay way.
Word has it that the financial books were a mess and the person who worked to get them in order for CRA is no longer on the board. If they want to keep their Societies status they better get their act together.
Word has it that someone made negative comments about what transpired at the meeting on the Union Bay Bulletin Board and it was removed.
The administrator for the Union Bay Bulletin Board is Mark Corbet (he’s the guy they hired to turn the camera on and off at UBID meetings because Gordon Mason was incompetent) who used to rent in Union Bay and created the page and I believe he lives in Calgary but still removes what is deemed unworthy. If I’m not mistaken Brenda Bitten is also an admin or is closely tied to Corbet.
If you’re a member of the Union Bay Bulletin Board you should know the information is filtered through Bitten/Corbet so you will never see any criticism of Bittens or their friends because it will be removed.
It is not a community page – it is an ignorant hillbilly mentality page.
Take your community back from these dead heads. They offer nothing new and refuse to step aside and let new people build Union Bay’s future. They had their chance and fucked everything up. Kick them out!
Union Bay can be a great community but not with the backward attitude that still festers. Get together and make a real community page, not one where a small group is the only voice. Abandon the hillbilly site and make one that isn’t private and information is available to everyone.
There’s no fucking way I’m sitting back and allowing these hicks to get control. I love Union Bay and I didn’t fight these assholes all these years to let them pull this shit.
