My name is _________ I am a resident of Union Bay, and a voter in the riding of Mid Island-Pacific Rim.
I am writing requesting that you take action to protect our drinking water. It is my understanding that our Union Bay Improvement District has requested your assistance as well. I want you to support their request to bring a motion before the legislature’s Environment and Land Use Committee seeking a temporary injunction to prevent Island Timberlands from conducting any industrial activity anywhere within the Langley Lake watershed until such time as a democratic process can be undertaken to permanently protect our water.

It is my understanding that our Union Bay Improvement District has requested the assistance of our MLA to defend our communities water supply from proposed logging in Langley Lake. I want you to support his attempt to bring a motion before the legislature’s Environment and Land Use Committee (ELUC). This motion would seek a temporary injunction preventing Island Timberlands from conducting any industrial activity anywhere in Langley Lake watershed. I would also like you to write to ELUC requesting a temporary injunction. I would also like you to explore every option available to you as Chair of the CVRD to find a permanent solution to the threats facing our drinking water.
As our Area Director I expect you to protect the drinking water my family depends on.
