You will have noticed the beautiful new sign at the Community Hall and also currently replacing the roof with a metal one. The Community Club is asking the CVRD for funds to replace the poor excuse of a playground.
Why hasn’t this developer given more than a lousy 6.5 acres out of over 800? Because he’s controlled the majority of UBID boards and they negotiated 6.5 acres. Had Jacques, Loxam and Bitten not fired the professional negotiators hired by the Molstad board, we would have a hell of a lot more than 6.5 acres. So the Gong Show negotiated away the future of Union Bay.
The Community Club needs to ensure they maintain control over the boat launch instead of allowing KIP to be their ‘agent’. Jacques touted KIP’s involvement (along with others) in restoring the breakwater as showing KIP’s commitment to the community. What a crock.
All you KIP supporters should be encouraging KIP to donate the much needed playground. After all, it’s good PR and a tax write off. Or just continue to let this bullshit developer divide and suck the resources out of the community.
