These catalogues from North Island College only cover from Sept. 3, 2019 to Dec. 6, 2019. How long has this been going on? I know I heard over a year ago that this Admin was teaching at North Island College, but am shocked at the hours during the day as I thought it would be in the evenings. These hours only cover the course times, doesn’t include traveling or preparing for these classes. Exactly what are the priorities for this admin and board?
We have been told how hard he works and all the overtime he puts in. Too busy to answer correspondence, ignores FOI requests, refuses to attend meetings and has lied to me personally which I have a recording.
Salaries doubled from 2017 when this new admin came on the scene. He has been paid overtime in order to complete his tasks as he has zero government experience. So if we are paying him overtime – how is it he teaches during working hours at North Island College at the Campbell River, Port Alberni and Comox Valley campuses?
Sent the following emails to a trustee with my concerns:
The UBID CAO teaches at North Island College. Could you explain how he attends these classes from 11:30 am till 1 pm in Campbell River and Port Alberni and again from 4 pm to 5:30 pm in Campbell River?
This is unacceptable. This individual is being paid top dollar and yet can’t complete the tasks other admin’s have excelled at. How can this individual be claiming full time pay from UBID?

The Board needs to investigate and find out who authorized these absences and correct this situation.

It just got worse.
Here is another set of 3 classes at the Comox Valley North Island College campus from 4pm to 5:30 pm. These classes appear to be Tues/Thurs where the ones in my previous email appear to be Mon/Wed. Seven classes Mon., Tues., Wed., Thurs. How many hours a week is the Cao expected to work?
This is a mess and immediate action needs to be taken.
UBID’s office hours are below and the office is closed from 12 to 1 pm but the Cao takes his lunch from 1 to 2 pm. That strikes me as a convenient 2 hour lunch. OFFICE HOURS: Tuesday – Thursday 9:00am – 4:00pm (Closed over lunch from 12 noon to 1:00pm) Closed Monday and Friday
