Sewage update for Union Bay – “…there are no immediate plans to extend servicing to this area at this time.”

Check out the questions on Paul’s blog about the 2020 budget. https://newdaysinunionbay.com/2019/11/26/union-bay-improvement-district-2020-budget/

Previous post about KIP aka Union Bay sewage possibilities. https://allthingsunionbay.com/2018/03/15/is-the-sewage-system-planned-for-union-bay-estates-aka-kensington-island-properties-34083-yukon-inc-based-on-dubais-model/

Received this email from an individual – name withheld. There is no mention of KIP aka Union Bay Estates going ahead with a sewage system is there?

Hello XXXX,

Please see response below from CVRD’s engineering department.

“The CVRD has been actively working to implement a long term sewer solution for Royston and Union Bay for many years. Implementing sewer service for the south region is challenging due to high costs and a difficult discharge environment for treated effluent. While we continue to evaluate options and partnership opportunities for improved wastewater management for the south region there are no immediate plans to extend servicing to this area at this time.”

Information about applications associated with the Union Bay Estates development can be found here: https://www.comoxvalleyrd.ca/projects-initiatives/past-current-projects/union-bay-estates. There are no long range planning projects for Royston/Union Bay at this time.
